I forgot my meds today but I’m managing. There’s so much built up in my system that maybe one day of missed meds won’t hit me as hard. Yesterday it occurred to me I don’t know when I’m next supposed to see the doctor. He prescribes them and he won’t cut me off or anything like that but the last appointment had to get canceled and I never rescheduled it. So after work, when the sun comes up, I have to call them.
Been forcing myself to read. Or write. Less time on the phone. Frank Herbert’s The White Plague has been good. He also wrote the Dune books. I read Matthew Stokoe’s Cows before that. Cows was one of the most fucked up books I’ve ever read. Definitely a strong work of bizarro fiction, or splatterpunk. I’ve read other splatterpunk books and they’re not all that good. Cows had incredible prose. Underneath all the disgusting filth and horror was a literary masterpiece, and a damning indictment of our societal decay.
Ceila got me a few books for my birthday, a history one and a horror anthology. Then I ordered a couple more. I have soooo many books. I have well over a 1000, which means I have a real library. My spare room has floor to ceiling book shelves on one wall and it is full of books. I added shelves to my room – on the wall and a corner bookshelf – and another bookshelf at the end of the hall. They are all full of books. The hall shelf has a little more room and that’s it. A large chunk of my book collection features antique books.
I’m ordering wide shelves to add to my closet because I’m rapidly running out of already limited space for my wigs and other things like dresses and such. I ordered 15 wig stands on Temu. I have at least that many wigs. I am essentially out of shoe space but I would have more room for them if I could get my wigs on the new shelves.
One of my tenants is moving out. I don’t know if I will try to fill the room.
