Tomorrow is it, my first show in which I sing for the first time in a couple months. My voice seems mostly to be back and I’m finally over the walking pneumonia. I’m singing White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane at the Alice in Wonderland themed Garland Pride and will be in my elaborate purple gown with a black Marie Antoinette-style wig. No guarantee on pictures, but I will try.
I also very humbly inquired of the Emperor and Empress of the Imperial Sovereign Court (of which I used to be a debutante) of the possibility of performing at this year’s coronation, and their step-down, in which the crown is passed to the next Emperor and Empress. The Empress said she would get back to me. We were debutantes together years ago.
I’ve thought about vying for a position in the court again, but I’d need to quit my job.
I’m tormented by it. Wanting to make all that money but strapped for time to perform with all this nursing work. Performing is so good for me…also it is expensive.
I perform again next Friday at a fire fundraiser. The Spokane fires tore through the northern third of town and decimated it. I was invited to the last fundraiser but had to work. This time I’m off and have to have two numbers prepared.
Finding time to practice – also a challenge. I could be better, I need time. I sing and practice every break, every lunch break, and whenever I’m in my car. But it could be better.
