This was in my email today. I’ve been written out of existence.
I honestly can’t remember what my employee records say. Something’s up with the eOPF government employee records site. They should say male but it’s possible I had to put female for biological sex to avoid the selective service requirement – I wouldn’t qualify for it anyway. But if there’s a separate space for gender, I’m fucked because it’s about to be scrubbed. I have a fully updated passport and ID, they’ve said male for years. As a patient, I’m listed as biologically female with a big fat asterisk – they need to know for medical purposes. I’m thinking of changing that now if/while I still can. I don’t know. In the morning I’m seeing a notary to update the name and gender on my birth certificate, I never did that because I had hoped it would never become necessary. I have to dig up my old name change documentation from back in 2008.
Everything is uncertain and everyone is on edge. Like there is this big elephant in the room. An orange one.
Musk has the government’s purse strings under his control. An unelected, non government billionaire has access to all the people’s money. ALL of it. That has been the most concerning development over the last horrific 11 days.
Things are going to get bad. Really really bad.
There’s nothing I can do but make jokes and laugh at the memes. The jokes are becoming increasingly overshadowed with the bizarre and downright scary.
