The great Spokane fire has burned away a third of the city. The VA, where I work, was evacuated. All my patients are downtown. I’ve been on standby since yesterday. The VA is closed.
We are half a mile from the level 3 evac zones. We are surrounded by fire. I live in North Spokane too, but have stayed put and prepared while further north is burned away. I have 7 cats, so I got all the carriers and their supplies ready.
65,000 people evacuated in a chaotic rush Saturday. The winds were 50 mph. Amazingly no one died yet. Looks like a bomb went off up there. I guess it kinda did.
They brought in more firefighters. The governor is demanding FEMA aid but we know how Trump feels about blue states. It’s sooo smokey too.
Without work to go to, I’ve just been dickin around the house, doing random chores. I’m lethargic. My mom waters a lot.
The devastation is massive and it’s still spreading.
