PEG this!

I stood my ground, I said no, and left the room.

A patient had a PEG tube and couldn’t stop fiddling and playing with it. I cleaned him up and got him back in the bed, but he still would not stop going for it. I tried to talk him out of it; I tried to hold his hands. After a stroke, just too confused. The nurse said we’d have to use soft restraints to keep his hands away. I understood the need, but I couldn’t handle it. I told the nurse to get another to help because I am just too triggered about it. I said that. I used that corny word.

I left the room, and another came in. They handled it. I have such a hard section tonight too. Everyone is very extensive in their care. They are very fragile. I even have a nearly 90-year-old who is somehow a full code. That is crazy.
