Pride 2026

Pride on Saturday was absolutely epic. Matty put on one hell of a show. I was a part of that show – during the festival, I performed at the Fountain Stage in Riverfront Park, the jewel of Spokane and a relic from Expo ’74. I did my Rose cosplay – the jump dress with my heart of the ocean necklace and sang My Heart Will Go On. I absolutely nailed it.

I met a lot of people, some old friends and some new. Nyne bar, where I perform in drag shows, had the whole block blocked off for a block party. I hung out there awhile, where I got a lot of compliments on my dress and my look. I had been getting compliments all day. I was talking to some people and met a British makeup artist. Everyone looked so hot. Thousands had turned out that day for the parade and festival. Now it was time for the party to go on into the night.

My Heart Will Go On is a very well-practiced song for me and I’m doing it again on formal night on the cruise.

I am so excited for it. A real vacation. I worked so hard, working so much, and paying large payments toward it. Finally, it’s time to go. Now I can actually put money toward savings. For the next cruise, anyway.

But I’ve got to pay down my credit card debt. I don’t have near the national average, but I want to pay it off quickly so I’ll give them a 1000 a month for 9 months, then it will be done.

I’m also still paying off the sewer blowout expense from two years ago. A tree root ripped open my sewer pipe, and an excavator had to dig down there and fix it. That cost me over $15,000, and I’ve been sending 500 a month since then. I still owe another $6,000 or so. I am also paying off my new furnace, window, and door, but that goes much faster. It’s kind of crazy how much I’ve updated my house since buying it, not just since moving back in. All the appliances are new. The flooring, paint, light fixtures, all new. Today I bought new colored edison lights I can control from my phone. I strung them up to replace the old ones that no longer work on my front porch. I love ambient lighting. Colored lighting. I have very little non-colored light in my room. I’ve strung up several lights around my house. I have glow orbs hanging from my cherry tree, and solar powered glowing windchimes (they are also silent).

To further prepare for my time away, I sent for my Chewy autoship early. Sam will definitely need it. Since my cats destroyed their last couple cat scratchers, I bought two new ones as well – simple ones but they do the job. One is shaped like a mushroom. The other has a hammock.

After frantic marketing, messaging, and arranging show appointments, I have found a tenant. She seems like a pretty good fit, has a job, and is clean. I hope this works. Every tenant is a gamble because it’s a rooming house. You don’t know how they’ll get along with the other tenants.

She pays the deposit on Monday, the day before I leave, and we’re arranging the move-in for after July 7, the day I get back into town. I now have to draw up the lease and all that. The relief is strong. I even asked her to confirm she wanted it, saying I had a lot of other interested parties. This is partly true; I had set up another appointment with another prospective tenant. But she confirmed she did in fact want it. So, I took the listing down off craigslist and other places.

  1. Your cosplay sounds absolutely epic. Nailing a song like My Heart Will Go On as well. I hope you enjoy your cruise.
